| | The title of this poem is Courage is well-concealed fear It works until pretending to be okay doesn't.
You know how you are so afraid of rejection You just bottle up inclinations, attraction, courage And throw that bottle in your ocean of confusion Choosing never to take the plunge Until one day That cap came loose And amidst the whirlpool of emotions Your struggling breaths teach you The best way to find yourself Is to lose yourself first Waves push you ashore foreign land A product of your shy denial Singular, you While looking for some form of civilisation Tripped over that rock, of unshakable emotion And stare in wonderment at the number of bottles piled up before you But the sand feels so comfortable and warm and safe against your palms. Doesn’t it remind you of someone? Someone better save me from myself Before sleep takes me and we elope to dreamland Helpless again, at the mercy of suppressed emotions. Maybe sleep will do me better Only then is dream a reality And reality, a dream.
(geesh. so mushy.)
